After completing this course, the reader should be able to:

  1. List the clinical and histopathologic risk factors that motivate a more aggressive adjuvant treatment in patients with locally advanced head and neck cancer.
  2. Evaluate the impact of postoperative radiotherapy and chemoradiation on treatment outcome for a variety of efficacy and toxicity end points.
  3. Identify the most efficient chemotherapy agents in chemoradiation protocols for head and neck cancer patients.
