After completing this course, the reader should be able to:

  1. Explain the mechanism of action of angiogenesis inhibitors currently being explored for the treatment of cancer.
  2. Compare the efficacy of standard chemotherapy alone with that of chemotherapy combined with an antiangiogenic agent for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer.
  3. Describe the rationale for the use of angiogenesis inhibitors in the treatment of breast cancer.
  4. Assess recent data describing the efficacy of angiogenesis inhibitors in the treatment of NSCLC.
