After completing this course, the reader should be able to:

  1. Identify activity and survival outcomes associated with single-agent gemcitabine as first-line therapy for patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer.
  2. Identify palliative treatment options for patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer upon disease progression with gemcitabine.
  3. Identify development of two to four drug gemcitabine-based combinations as an encouraging research priority.
